S.C.A. CIRC.NO.2/93 STILL IN FORCE

REBATES ON SUEZ CANAL TRANSIT TOLLS OF CRUISE VSLS TRANSITING THE CANAL FOR VISITING THE EGYPTIAN RED SEA PORTS


S.C.A. Circ.No.2/93 is still in force, as our company attends cruise vsls transiting the Suez Canal, we would like to notify to our clients how they can get discount for these transits.

The S.C.A. decided a rebate of 35% of the Suez Canal normal transit tolls of these cruise vsls with the aim of motivating and increasing number of tourists visiting Egypt.

This rebate to be granted as follows:

1. Full Suez Canal tolls to be submitted before transiting from P.Said southbound

2. On her return voyage, from Suez northbound 30% only of Suez Canal normal tolls to be levied on conditions required as follows:

a. Submitting a declaration evidencing that vsl's trip which started on (dd/mm/yy) - the date of entering the Canal from P.Said - was devoted only for touristic activities in calling to Egyptian Red Sea Ports of (name or ports) and no other commercial business (such as loading or discharging cargoes during their tour) took place.

b. This declaration have to be stamped by the Egyptian Ministry or Tourist or by Misr Travel Co. and presented to Transit Department (Survey Section) before vsl's transit.

c. In case of above mentioned documents were not submitted before northbound transit full Suez Canal normal tolls would be levied. The 70% reduction will be released up on receiving such document within maximum period of three months from the date of transit northbound.

3. This circular has come into force since 14/04/1993.
