REDUCTION IN TRANSIT TOLLS FOR VLCC'S IN BALLAST COMING FROM AMERICA TO ARABIAN GULF

S.C.A. with the aim to attract VLCC's in ballast of 200,000 DWT and above to use Suez Canal routed from ports of Gulf of Mexico - Caribbean Zone - North Coast of South America with destination to Arabian Gulf offers automatic rebate of 45% and 55%.

  1. A reduction of 45% from Suez Canal applicable tolls for VLCC's coming from Gulf of Mexico (Loop Range).
  2. A reduction of 55% from Suez Canal applicable tolls for VLCC's coming from Caribbean Zone and the North Coast of South America.


DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED:

Upon arrival to Suez Canal along with other documents normally offered according to Art.15 of S.C. Rules of Navigation following documents must be submitted:

  1. A Certificate signed and stamped from Port of Origin Authorities - stating the date of vsl's departure and that the vsl is in ballast condition.
  2. A vow in writing to pay full transit dues in case of changing port of origin / port of destination dully signed and stamped by vsl's Owners / Operators.
  3. A vow of same signed by vsl's master declaring vsl's route, dully signed by the master and sealed with vsl's stamp.


Within a month from the date of transit following documents must be submitted:

  1. A Certificate signed and stamped from Port of destination Authorities stating the date of arrival and coming from and the cargo loaded (type and quality).
  2. Owners' declaration that the vsl did not call any other port between port of origin and destination port through Suez Canal. (If any deviation prior or after transit Suez Canal must be declared and Certificate from Port Authorities must be issued according and submitted together with the required documents).

Item (1) page 169 - part IV of S.C. Rules of Navigation regarding erroneous declaration will be applicable if documents and datas are deemed untrue.

This circular comes into force on the December 1st of 1992.

Reduction stated above are subjected to alternations in case changes take place in the World Shipping Market. Alterations - if any - will be circulated a month prior to their getting into force.

This circular does not cancel the applicable Long Haul tolls Rebate circular.
